Management Team

At African Language Services International (ALSI) in Indianapolis, we help advance the exploration and application of several African languages on nationwide and international markets. Our management team helps guide people who are interested in learning and using African languages appropriately.

Patrick Appiah-Kubi, Ph.D.

Director of Operations
Dr. Appiah-Kubi is an Akan, born in Kumase, Ghana.

David Adu-Amankwah (Uncle Dave), Ph.D., M.Ed.

Founder & President

Uncle Dave is a native speaker of Akan (Asante-Twi), and he holds a Ph.D. degree in folklore (with a minor in African languages & linguistics). He is currently the Assistant Coordinator of the African Languages Program (ALP) at Indiana University in Bloomington. He has received training in African language program development, evaluation, and management, and he has evaluated and provided recommendations for the improvement of his program and similar ones in the United States. Uncle Dave has taught Akan within the ALP since 1994, and he has served as a certified Akan OPI tester and rater since 2013. Above all, he has developed numerous language-learning materials. His Siesie Wo Ho Sie: Elementary Akan (Asante-Twi) Vocabulary was published in 2018.
